| Built on the site of a pre-existing church, S. Francesco della Scarpa features a 13th century rose window with small trefoil arches. The lower part in stone is in baroque style. On the sides of the portal, which is preceded by a flight of steps, are two niches with the statues of St. Antonius bishop of Florence and St. Thomas Aquinas, taken from the church of S. Domenico. The 17th century interior was devasted by fire in 1933. In the nave there is a lovely wooden pulpit (18th cent.). |
