The time portal shows to 1735 by the Prince Fabio Marchese Belprato. Originally the church had a length of 19 meters and one altar was dedicated to St. Francesco da Paola. At the end of 800 was enlarged with the addition of a dome and the presbytery, thus reaching a length of about 33 meters. During the same period Mercedari Fathers built the adjoining convent. The façade is adorned with four pilasters with Ionic capitals, two niches at the bottom, where there are statues of the Madonna della Mercede and St. Francesco da Paola, and two other small niches at the top and a central window. Inside, noteworthy, choir stalls, the wrought iron chandeliers and a wooden statue of St. Francesco da Paola clothed in black of his order, between the end of 700 and early 800.
