| The church, dedicated to Santa Maria della Vittoria, in remembrance of the Battle of Lepanto in 1571, is an architectural jewel of the late sixteenth century, although it has been altered by the restoration of the 18th century. The present facade, in fact, replaced the original one in the second half of 18th century. The original structure, in its simplicity and elegance, you can see in the back, the outer frame and single-light windows in the transept, walled up in the 18th century after the opening of two more larger. The portal in bronze by the sculptor Ernesto Lamagna, is majestic and topped with an incision placed in a conch shell. Inside you can admire the elegant altar with polychrome marble balustrade built in 1777, the Fund on the eighteenth-century organ and choir, in the presbytery, choir stalls, made from local wood carvers in the second half of 17 century. Particular attention should also paintings that are preserved in it. |
