Description:
The church of S. Nicola di Bari was built on the site of a previuos temple during the 5th century and its current form is the results of rebuilding following the disastrous earthquake at 1706. The 16th century style main portal is characterised by Corinthian half columns with plainted motifs and foliage. the two column-bearing lions either side of the entrance may have belohged to the primitive portal. The aisleless interior, enlivened by side altars, has a handsome high altar decorated with motifs inspired by 18th century Neapolitan art.
