The Cistercian monastic complex of S. Maria d'Arabona, founded in 1208, is one of the few examples of French Gothic architecture in Abruzzo. The exterior features two rose windows. The interior is built on a simple Latin-cross layout with a nave and two aisles. The majestic nave arcade houses a stone arch braces, the gothic Tabernacle and Easter Candle sitting on a small column supported by two dogs and a rampant lion and wrapped in plant decorations are worth seeing. The three paintings on the wall of the choir are by Antonio Martini (1373).
