| The Church of St. Rocco was built by the survivors of the great plague of 1656, in honor of the saint who had liberated the country from the epidemic. The church was founded around one of the towers of the walls near the Gate of St. Rocco, a major entrance to the old fortified town. The simplicity of the external features, with a facade of "Sailing" rectangular reliefs adorned only by the portal and windows, is reflected in the indoor environment with a carved wooden altar decorated with gold, originally adorned with fine statues, then stolen.
