| Outside the historic center, in the south-west, towards the road down to Villa S. Lucia degli Abruzzi, there is the Church of Our Lady of Grace.
It is a small building, preserved in its original form, with a masonry exterior limestone. The facade, crowning horizontal, is enriched by a wooden doorway which is flanked by two square windows and a belfry. The interior has a nave and features on the back wall painted an altar dedicated to Our Lady of Grace.
In the past, particularly during periods of drought, the church was the destination of the "Rogation", at which a procession of clergy and faithful, preceded by the virgins dressed in white, crowned with thorns and barefoot, traveled the country to implore the 'arrival of rain. Even today in the month of May, the building is very visited by the faithful. On 14 August is also the goal of striking an evening procession of the Assumption, the castle and attended by tourists traveling to holding a candle, and then attend the function that is celebrated in the square opposite. |
