| The Church pf St Pietro ad Oratorum, built in the 8th century by the Longobard King Desiderius, stands in a solitary place, near the river Tirino. Restored in Romanesque style in the 12th century, the portal bears a relief of St Vincenzo Diacono on the right and one of king David on the left. The inscription on the left side of the portal, "Sator Arepo Tenet Opera Rotas", is probably a mirror-like cryptogram of the Lord's Prayer in Latin. The three-nave interior houses a splendid ciborium and some precious frescoes in the apse. |
