Description:
The church was built near the sources of Presciano. It was anciently called S. Mary Misericordia and had annexed a small shelter for the pilgrims named "Hospital Santa Maria della Misericordia Presciano Extra. "On the altar there is a picture of 1777 depicting the Virgin, S. Rocco and S. John. On either side of the altar itself there are two plates: one with the initials N.S.M.V. "Nativitas Verginis Sanctae Mariae "and the other with the arms Capestrano (a fortress on a hill from three rivers which flow).
