The complex belonged to the Benedectines up until at least the 15th C., when the structure passed to the Friars Minor of the Observance. The portal dates from the late 13th C. to early 14th C. and features a rounded archivolt. The decorations form a symbolic and conceptual itinerary. The interior has a nave and two aisles. At the end of the nave is an ornate baroque high altar.
