The Reserve covers an area of 53 hectares, mostly covered by natural vegetation and semi predominantly with Pino D'Aleppo, Oak and Olmo. This area, also known as Pineta d'Avalos, took its name from the ancient family that at the time of the Bourbon government, had the Marquis of Pescara. It features the stele of the D'Annunzio theatre and the former Aurum distillery, designed in the 1930s by Giovanni Michelucci.
