The church in the hilltop Castello neighbourhood is dedicated to S. Panfilo, a bishop and martyr. The church is believed to have been built around the 9th century on the remains of a pagan temple. Built in the 18th century baroque style, it houses a statue of a Throned madonna of the people. Also worthy of note is the baroque silver reliquary of S. Panfilo, a gilded copper cross (15th C.) and a series of small wooden votive panels from the 12th century.
