Villa Badessa is the northen most Italian-Albanian colony in Italy, built according to the Tipikon ("ritual" in Greek) of Costantinople. The community comprises the discendents of Albanian immigrants who fled the Turkish occupation in 1744. For historical, geographical and religious reasons, they have maintained their original language and ethnic physiognomy.
