| From the last Sunday of August, the first Sunday of September, a week of events: concerts of ancient music, theater, street theater, jugglers, knights and combatants, dinners, medieval setting, medieval fair and a great parade in costumes vintage.
The dinners were inspired by the medieval setting Panarda, a feast of ancient sacred tradition that was prepared on special occasions in favor of the people from the "squire Contrada or neighborhood." With the "Panarda" it had the opportunity to be "forgiven" for his wealth. The "Panarda", in essence, consisted of a parade of endless dishes served in a considerable number of flow rates (between 40 and 50). A burst of cannon announced the beginning of the ritual atmosphere. Peculiarity was that every dish served, guests were strictly controlled by the "Guardian of Panarda" which fired a shotgun in case of refusal by someone. It was therefore imperative to reach the end of each tasting succulent banquet as a refusal was considered offensive to the noble lord.
The event culminates in the historical parade on the first Sunday of September. On that day we celebrate the solemn ceremony of investiture of Mastrogiurato with a parade of over 700 figures in period costume. |
