| On 23rd December of every year, the “Squilla”, or bell, located on top of the tower, tolls from 18:00 to 19:00 and its chimes announce the forthcoming Christmas and call for peace and the need of forgiveness.
The “Squilla” is a family celebration and the family bond is perhaps never so strongly felt as on this day.
The bell is also celebrated every year on 31st August, St. Egidio’s Day. On this occasion, the fiancés donate a clay bell made for their brides as a renewed promise of love.
