Chiesa di San Pietro di Ottava
Church, ruined church, chapel, temple
Catholic
no
The chapel of the farm of Octava, is one of the most interesting of the entire complex. Its construction dates from the eleventh century and is thus older than the remaining body of household. The type of the church belongs to the medieval buildings of Puglia aligned domes dating from the eleventh-twelfth century. Of the church we have news for the first time in a document in 1180 by Pope Alexander III to the bishop of Monopoli. The style in which this is achieved, carries a clear imprint of the Romanesque: the façade, with a width greater than the height, has two entrances, which has the main feature of the portal with the decoration "sawtooth"
