General information
Torre Baronale
Secular building
no
It is the oldest existing monumental testimony today in the city. Some theses indicate its birth as early as the Norman period when, in the eleventh century, as a sign of their domination, they built a Baronial Castle (defined as a building around a tower). Then, in 1380, became the property of the Bishop; other argument, instead, be traced back directly to the construction of the Tower 1380 by Bishop overlord. The tower has a square base, with battlements and embrasures, spread over two floors, with fine and elaborate pavilion vaults and cross vaults.
