Cappella di San Marco
Church, ruined church, chapel, temple
Catholic
no
today is the cemetery church. It was built in 1716 where there was already a previous. The legend says that it is built on the site of the discovery of the ruins of the chapel with the image of S. Mark. The Chapel today no longer responds outside of the original one, nor has preserved nothing of the subsequent remakes. The high altar, a typical example of Baroque Leccese also remained single, has the true artistic merits, even though he has lost much of its original splendor. inside the chapel there are paintings of Scatigni, and brothers Piccinno depicting the saint and the Madonna del Carmine. The statue of St. Marco corresponds to what we see above the front door of the church.
