At one time the church was known as Church of the Saviour. It was built in the first half of 1600. The main entrance is an inscription in Latin which referred to the devotion of the people for Cristo Salvatore. Inside there is an altar dedicated to the Transfiguration of Jesus with a central oval painting of Christ with his face framed by golden rays, on the bottom shows the scene of the transfiguration on Mount Tabor with the three witnesses of the apostles event, Peter, James and John. Above the picture there is an inscription in Latin reminded once again the Transfiguration of Christ on the Mount and the dedication of the church. The statues placed between the columns of altar are to the right of Sant' Antonio, to the left that of St. Dominic de Guzman. To the right of the high altar is a painting of the Madonna of the Rosary. On this side there is a small altar dedicated to St. Vito. On the left side of the high altar is a painting of the Immaculate Virgin, attributed to Oronzo Tiso. There is a niche containing the statue of the Madonna del Carmine, made by Giuseppe Manzo, built in 1892. In the church has established since 1891 the Confraternity of the Holy Souls in Purgatory and Mary of Mount Carmel.
