| The Oasis of Serranella is in the lower valley of Sangro Aventino area, in the municipalities of Altino, Casoli and Sant'Eusanio del Sangro. The surveys have already revealed the exceptionally rich vegetation of the reserve where, were found about 25 plant associations, almost all related to aquatic environments, with sometimes very rare species. The vegetation is of course represented the wetland with extensive reed to reed. The most important aspect of the nature reserve of Serranella is remarkably rich of avifauna, for its geographical position it has in fact become a strategic point for the migration of birds along the Adriatic coast. Were surveyed by over 200 species of birds, including some very rare as osprey, black stork, glossy ibis, cranes, flamingos, cormorant, spoonbill, egret and cormorant, whose presence in migration and winter has become regular. |
