| The original body of the church prior to 1640, when it was demolished the previous cramped building, to erect a new. The new church was consecrated in 1662. The current state dates back to a period between the late eighteenth and early nineteenth century: the three naves, the choir raised on a design by Vincenzo Politi, the altar of the Crucifix, the altar and the marble papier mache statue of Saint Anthony are the result of the modification work completed in 1885. The facade of the church, preceded by a staircase with attached apron, presents a neoclassical style marked by four pilasters with Doric capitals, topped by a triangular pediment in the middle of which there is a clock donated in 1930 by the Rector of Don Carlo Pellegrino. The front door is made of bronze. |
