| The church of Santa Maria della Ritornata is a sanctuary placed in a rock, where every year, on the last sunday of august, a procession in honour of the Madonna della Ritornata goes to the sanctuary, where you can admire a beautiful fresco of 1421. On the sunday morning the ancient painting is brought to the Sanctuary of Santa Maria del Monte, which is located at 4,5 km from the village. You may reach the sanctuary crossing a cart-road through woods.The painting is brought back in the evening, while another procession climbs to meet the image of the Madonna. |
