Description:
The church of S. Maria is in a lonely slopes of Mount Velino. The structure dates to the years around 1080, as can be inferred from the plaque stuck on the pillars of the porch attaches to Master Nicholas. The porch preceding the facade is a later addition that has taken the place of one of the sides of a cloister, now destroyed. Access to the church is through a Gothic portal with a bezel that houses a fresco of the Tuscan-Umbrian school of 400.
