| The convent and church were built in the fourteenth century but underwent expansion and changes through the centuries. Lived there until mid-1500 the Augustinian nuns and the church was dedicated to St. Mary Magdalene, The church has a single vessel with side chapels decorated with the late-tinascimentali. The coffers on the ceiling, painted in chiaroscuro, are modern work, the work of the Brothers Cianciarelli. The overall architecture, despite the many restorations carried out in several centuries, has remained fairly pure. The facade is embellished by a Renaissance portal, finely worked. The portal leading to the convent of the same era, but worked in a less fine. Now the church is served by the Franciscan minor. |
