In 1221, in a bull of Honorius III confirmed to the monastery of St. Martino Valle in the possession of the churches of S. Angelo and S. Flavian of Diver. The only news on the rock church dates back to a bull of Honorius III in 1221, certainly reveals more about the local tradition has it that the cave there was a sanctuary dedicated to Bona, goddess of fertility. It seems that mothers are recassero cave in the breasts to sprinkle with water that flowed in and thus favor the abundance of milk. The presence of numerous tanks dug into the rock seems to confirm this ancient custom, the place has all the features because I was born into a cult following for S. Michael: the cavity, water, pastoral presence. The remains of the apse are securely dated to the eleventh century and ennobled by the obvious resemblance to the arched roof of St. coronatura Liberatore a Majella.
