| The church, originally very small and dedicated to the Holy Spirit, was commissioned by order of the Marchese Giovanni Enriquez. The church was enlarged, then, around 1675. In 1690 the bell tower was completed by Augustine and Anthony Trevisi.
The strict facade of the church dates to 1895, when it was rebuilt in neo-classical style is divided into two rows, separated by a string-course. In contrast to the strict setting of the exterior, the interior with a nave with side chapels is more rich and varied. Witness the original factory Renaissance vaults are decorated with stucco friezes and paintings. The shrine houses the remains of St. Pompilio Maria Pirrotti, Piarist Father, who died July 15, 1766, and canonized in 1934.
