Description:
It was built in 14th century on a Benedictine monastery by the Dominican community. The site has been continuously used since the Greek period. The foundation of a temple has been partially discovered during the last archaeological excavations. It is now occupied by the Superintendence for Archaeological Heritage of Puglia, a branch office of the State Administration of Cultural Heritage that is dedicated to the protection, conservation and enhancement of archaeological heritage in the region.
