| It was founded in 1958 by Bishop Aurelio Marena. From 1965 it was elevated to Papal Basilica. Today it is home to the parish. Inside there is a listening centre and residential care.
The building is in contemporary style, inaugurated in March 1973. It houses: relics of the arms of Saints Cosmas and Damian, silver reliquary in gilded statues of SS. Medici (XVIIIth).
