The church has an ancient structure, probably dating from the XIII - XIV century, which were then made various additions over the years. You may recognize the oldest part of the crowning Romanesque arched facade, which continues through a section is on the right side than on the left. The church, today, consists of a nave, with a cross arm that gives the shape of a Latin cross. In the keystone, in the middle of the intersection of the arms, is the emblem of Surbo: a wolf under an oak tree. inside of the church presents the decorations in different time. In the oldest part of the corbels, six on each side, all have different decorations. There are symbolic representations of the four evangelists: the eagle represents John, the lion represents Mark, the ox is Luke, and the man who is Matthew. The main portal of the church was rebuilt in the sixteenth century, is flanked by two columns, which support a lunette arch with a central Madonna. Also on the portal to the entrance, there is a lunette arch with the risen Christ emerging from the tomb. The facade of the church on the right side has stopped decorating with the arches from the turret of watch, which was built "PUBLICI COMMODITATIS”, in 1586. The large window on the facade of the church, eighteenth-century style, was built in 1802 to illuminate the more internal. On the window you can see the crest of Surbo, and three angelic figures gathered in prayer, made of local stone. The tower was built around 1586. On the top there's a weathervane depicting Sant'Oronzo, by prof. Paolo Lani.
