| It was founded in 1645 by Vespasian Volpicella, the Vicar General of Cathedral, and consecrated in 1667. They were hauling stones from the nearby medieval castle, demolished. Outside is a beautiful facade in late Renaissance style, with a single doorway flanked by four statues placed in niches: S. Peter and S. Stephen on right, S. Paul and S. Lorenzo on left.
Inside the temple houses the splendid paintings by Bernardo Cavallino (seventeenth century), one depicting the Madonna of Corrado Giaquinto (eighteenth century). There are also statues of the Mysteries (The Sorrow and the Pity) traveled in procession in Holy Week by Archconfraternity of Death housed therein.
