Description:
The church of S. Peter the Apostle is already documented in 1174. It is located inside the old town, and was perhaps founded by a Croatian colony living in the area (St. Peter is patron of Dubrovnik in Croatia). It was rebuilt and enlarged in 1731 and in 1750, with the creation of a baroque facade (remember the inscription on the portal). Inside is housed the wooden statue of Mary. Of Carmel, by the Neapolitan sculptor Giuseppe Verzella (early nineteenth century).
