It was founded in 1744 by the Friars Minor Observant on the site of an ancient Byzantine Middle Ages. In 1774 the building was consecrated by Archbishop Ruggieri. Today it is home to the parish. The monastery houses a nursing home. It was built in late Baroque style; Outside: portal architrave, surmounted by a niche with a statue of St. Michael the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. The interior is also in the baroque style, has a single nave and is covered by a barrel vault. Contains: a painting of the Adoration of the Magi by the Flemish Hovic Gaspar (1613); paintings made by Gliri Nicholas from Bitonto (1680) and Leonardo Antonio Olivieri (eighteenth century). There are frescoes in the cloister with Franciscan stories.
