Description:
The church stands on the site of an ancient oratory. It is situated at the junction of the large artery that leads to Sovereto Terlizzi and Giovinazzo. The place was once outside the city walls and patronage of de Paù. There was a highly revered ancient fresco - now no longer exists - the Virgin and Child with the Virgin Mary who had a star painted on the front (hence the title of Our Lady of the Star). The birth of the brotherhood of the same name, in the early nineteenth century, it relaunched the cult of the Virgin. Dates back to those years, the Committee of the beautiful wooden statue (1829) by the sculptor Giuseppe Volpe da Terlizzi (1792 - 1876). Usually the church is closed.
