The museum of evolution is dedicated to the discovery that there were Neanderthals in Krapina. The town has been inhabited since the Palaeolithic Age. The first remains of the Krapina man were found in 1899 and eventually 884 bones were found belonging to 75 individuals. These finds were made by Dragutin Gorjanovic-Kramberger. These remains are now at the Natural History Museum in Zagreb. This museum contains prehistoric artefacts and information about the local history and geology.
