Description:
The Pauline Monastery in Lepoglava includes the monastery and a church. The church is dedicated to St Mary and is Gothic but was restored in the Baroque style. Inside are tombs for nobility, additional chapels and notable frescoes of scenes some of which dates from the fifteenth century. The altars date from the seventeenth and eighteenth century. There is an organ which was commissioned in 1649. Both the monastery and the church were damaged in 1945 but were restored from 1990 onwards.
