The church of St George in Belec was first documented in 1334 as the ecclesia sancti Georgii de Belch. It was a single nave structure built in the Romanesque style. This was converted into a belfry and then had a nave added in the fourteenth century. The mensa is Gothic and rare in Croatia. The George of St George is no longer the local parish church but still worth visiting for the wall paintings of which some date from the fourteenth century.
