| This was once the central hub of Castellammare Adriatico, as can be seen from the rather rural piazza. The only original element is the 18th-century church tower, built up around a chapel with a miraculous picture of the Virgin Mary that is now in the right aisle and flanked by an imitation Nostra Signora dei Sette Dolori. |
| In 1893 the parched countryside of Castellammare were due to a drought that would limit the harvest. It was decided to carry in procession for a few days the image of the Madonna and on May the 12th, while the procession moved towards the sea, it began to rain so much that people had to carry the statue of the Madonna in the Church of St. Anne, where she remained for some days. The rain was so abundant that the crop was saved. Since 1983,during this day, the citizenship has always celebrated the day of thanksgiving. |
