| The costruction of imposing cathedral was started in 1933 on the site of the old church of S. Cetteo (to whom the church is still dedicated)and was demolished to make room for the Michetti theatre and Palazzo Michetti-Barattucci. It was promoted and funded by the poet Gabriele D'Annunzio who wanted, at the bottom of the left aisle, the funeral chape of his mother,Luisa. |
