The churchyard is surrounded by a unique fence made of gunbarrels confiscated during the liberation wars against the Turks in 1858 and 1876-1878. On both sides of the entrance there are mediaeval standing tombstones, decorated with reliefs from the end of the 14th or beginning of the 15th centuries. It should be emphasised that Vlaška Church was the first building built in Cetinje
