| The church was built in 1890, with the permission of the Ottoman Czar Sultan Abdul Hamid. Under the today’s church there are leftovers of mortar from a cave-church. The church was enlarged in 1922, during the time of the priest Alekso Shokaroski. The iconostasis is from 1969. The St. Petka monastery is a working monastery, where you can get a simple room and use the kitchen to prepare some food. In a monastery everybody should help clean up etc. Below the monastery there is a little chapel with healing water.
