The church was built in 1862, eight years after the proclamation of the dogma of the Immaculate Conception. The church has one nave, with elements of neo-classical style. Ionic capitals are arranged along the walls and in support of the grandstand on the counter. On the high altar, in neoclassical style, there is a niche that bears within it the papier mache statue by the sculptor Luigi Guachi from Lecce, depicting the Virgin Immaculate.
