| The early Christian Basilica of St. Peter was the first Christian cathedral in the city, and was then transformed into a tomb of the patron saint of San Sabino Canosa.
The complex is divided into large three-nave church of San Pietro, a large hall porch that preceded it, from a residential building and other designated facilities cemetery. There were also a luxurious mausoleum, perhaps of the same bishop Sabino, a large kiln for firing bricks and a domus, dwelling perhaps bishop. In view are the mosaics and capitals, that are Doric-Ionic.
