Description:
The present church of the Croatian Lady Primordial Shrine is built above the foundations of the Church of Our Lady which when excavated in 1898 by Frane Bulic, a very notable archaeologist in Croatia, revealed an inscription from the Queen Jelena’s sarcophagus. This was an important piece of genealogical history about the former Croatian Rulers from these times. Pope John Paul II visited this shrine on the fourth of October 1998.
