Description:	The mosque was built on the foundations of the monastery St. George Skoropostiznik from the 11th century. It dates back to 1436 and is the oldest mosque of Skopje. It has been destroyed several times by fire and was also damaged by the earthquake in 1963. The present look dates from 1912. The mausoleums of Sultan Beyhan and of Ali Pasha of Dagestan lie in the grounds of the mosque.
