The cave that houses the cave church is under Minervino, to the north in a valley in place names is called S. Savior. The area proved to be rich in settlements: the part that goes from the cave of S. Michael the rock church of Our Lady of Saturday, were found graves and remains of settlements dating from the seventh century. B.C. Evidence of the imperial era are in the same cave.
