The Mother Church devoted to St. Peter the Apostle may date back to 1200. It was restored and modified several times especially in 1600. On the right side of the stone portal -on an acanthus leaf- is carved the ancient name of Spinazzola ‘golden thorn’. The interior has three naves with four lateral arches. In the apsis of the main altar is set a painting of St. Peter the Apostle by Luciano Bartoli. Inside the church are kept: a silver bust of St. Sebastian; the carved stone portal depicting ‘The Annunciation’ with St. Peter with the keys of the Kingdom and St. Paul with the sword on both sides; two XVII century paintings representing the Virgin and Child; a baptismal font where in 1615 the future Pope Innocent XII received Baptism. There are also several Byzantine and barbarous style works. On the right of the the presbytery is the baptismal chapel with stone doorway carved with images of the Annunciation, St. Peter and St. Paul.
