Its construction can be dated between the late fifteenth and early sixteenth century. It was created to replace an old church of Santa Maria (The) Nova, whose remains can be seen in three adjacent rooms at the Convent of the Franciscan Fathers. In this church the Renaissance style coexist with the baroque. Inside, on the left wall you can see the Adoration of the Child by Sebastian Pisano (XV).
