| The Makarska Municipal Museum was founded in 1962 after the Museum of the National Liberation Struggle of the Biokovo was closed down. The museum contains items relating to the Biokovo area and also cultural items. The seperate art gallery department includes works of art by Antun Gojak. The museum has over two thousand objects, these are divided into archaeological, cultural, ethnological and modern history departments. There are a number of local coats of arms within the displays.
