| The nature reserve of Lago di Penne was established in 1987 (LR 26, 5/29/87) in an area of 150 hectares, under the responsibility of the Abruzzo Region, City of Penne, Reclamation Consortium Vestina and WWF Italy. Located in about 2 km from the city, is dislocated (as the same pens) from The Great Horn of Gran Sasso (west) and the Maiella (south). Very striking is the view of "Sleeping Beauty" on the road to Pescara and Loreto Aprutino. |
