Is the calling card of the town. It was originally dedicated to St. Nicholas. In the niche at the top is placed a bust of St. Maximus. Passing through the gate one meets in the Palazzo Castiglione. Going up on the left goes towards the church of St. Augustine. Driving to the right instead you can visit the Duomo, or turn towards Corso Alessandrini, with the Church of the Annunciation, the square Luca da Penne, the characteristic courtyards, even in Roman times. Out of the country meets the church of the Madonna del Carmine and the nature reserve of the lake of Penne. |
